We’re seeing PSL’s everywhere and you know what that means…! Fall has arrived. And with the cooler weather comes a drop in humidity, which makes for dry skin. To help you prepare for the new season, we compiled some tips on how to transition your skincare routine from summer to fall.
Switch to a thicker moisturizer
Adding an extra layer of hydration to your routine is a great way to prevent skin dehydration. Now is the time to say goodbye to the lightweight moisturizer and switch to a heavier cream. When the skin lacks hydration, you get dryness and irritation – and sometimes eczema.
If you’re worried about a product reaction or breaking out, we recommend patch-testing for a few days. But if you avoid the ingredients you’re sensitive to, you might be able to find a heavier cream your skin can tolerate.
Avoid hot showers
Hot showers damage the skin barrier. Instead, take tepid showers and apply moisturizer on damp skin afterward. This will help seal and replenish the moisture your skin needs.
Try gentle exfoliation
A non-abrasive gentle exfoliator can be key to getting rid of dead dry winter skin. If overdone, it can cause more hydration loss and inflammation, so try to go easy on the acids and retinols.
Our Sugar Scrub formula, made of raw cane sugar, emu oil, and coconut oil, will gently exfoliate and rejuvenate your skin. It’s a lightweight and whipped scrub that penetrates deeply to leave your skin smooth, hydrated and clean, and its subtle hint of therapeutic lavender essential oil will absolutely seduce your senses. If you found this helpful then let me know in the comments section below.
