Most beauty trends aren’t one-size-fits-all. And that’s why we love subtle face-framing hairstyles that are based on your face shape or hair color.
Highlights
Face-framing highlights are a coloring technique that cleverly brings out your most attractive features. Explain to your hairstylist that you are looking for strategically placed waves and carefully selected coloring clues that will offer hints as to where the eye should be drawn. Usually the color is placed where the sun would naturally highlight your hair.
Oval shape
There’s no shortage of options when it comes to layered haircuts that will suit your face shape. Since your symmetrical shape gives you a bit of leeway, consider emphasizing its symmetry with some face-framing bangs—curtain bangs, to be exact.
Lob with Face-Framing Layers
A traditional lob can sometimes look heavy at the front, especially if you have thick hair. Framing chin-length layers around your face will soften this hairstyle and accentuate your features.
Bangs
Shorter face-framing layers like curtain bangs are a perfect choice to hide a bigger forehead and bring attention to your cheekbones. Blow dry your fringe upwards and downwards with a medium-size round brush to achieve a chic look.
Long layers
While layers are one of the best ways to elevate your long hairstyle, we like the idea of facial framing. Some layering around your face will emphasize your features and jazz up the style. Part your hair in the middle or wear it swept to one side to create different looks.
